Throttle Out | How to Choose Shocks for Your Jeep Wrangler

Side-by-Side Off-Road Comparison
Twin-Tube v. Monotube v. Reservoir

PAOLI, Pa. (March 12th, 2019) – In this episode of ExtremeTerrain’s (XT) “Throttle Out” YouTube series, Ryan Huck visits Teraflex in West Jordan, Utah to talk all about Jeep Wrangler shocks. From piston size and valving, to materials and real-world testing, Ryan spends some one-on-one time with Teraflex’s Chief Technology Officer, Paul Cox, to discuss the three different shock styles before testing them out for himself in the frozen Utahan wilderness.

“Shocks have always been a bit of a magical black box to most people. We know that some shocks are “better” than others but this was a great opportunity to get a first-hand look into why, by seeing how they’re built. Hopefully this video will help people understand what they’re buying when shopping for new shocks!”—Ryan Huck

Products tested include: Teraflex 9550 VSS Twin-Tube Shock Absorbers, Teraflex Falcon Series 2.1 Monotube Shocks, and Teraflex Falcon Series 3.3 Adjustable Piggyback Shocks.

Additionally, XT has added this video as a resource to their technical guides for Wrangler shock selection.View it here:
